I am a wife, mother, daughter and friend. I have always considered myself a strong woman, who has used that strength to persevere through the many challenges that life has thrown my way. Well, life threw me the biggest curveball - cancer and it freaking sucks. There is no sugar coating that hearing that dreaded "C" word will alter your life. 

I know that I am blessed to have caught it early, and early detection is so critical ladies!! I know that it could be much worse and that I could have other treatments to go through. Everyone's cancer journey is different, but no less valuable and real than someone else's. 

I have prided myself for always being someone who is brutally honest and speaks up when it is necessary. Well, I feel that it is necessary now - hopefully my voice will encourage one women to go get tested, or share their story as well.
